2014 FIFA World Cup - Day 3 Matches Results - COLOMBIA VS GREECE

I was on rest days for the past 2 days and celebrated father's day with my nephews and niece and my sisters and my brother-in-law. It was a fun weekend though even I have not watched the matches for Day 3 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. I feel terrible not giving you updates on the past 7 games of 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Without further ado, below are the results of the matches:

Colombia won over Greece by 3-0 on Group C's first match and the starter's match of 2014 FIFA World Cup's 3rd day.

On the first half, P. ARMERO Colombia's No7 got on the end of the cross and his shot took a deceiving deflection leaving Greek goalkeeper Orstis Karnezis too much trouble. This number was not equalized as the defense were both great for this 2 teams.
Teo's shot giving Colombia the lead on the second half of the game.
Second half made it worst for Greece as TEO - Colombia's No9 found the back of the net off a deflected corner and was on the doorstep to tap it in. This made a great lead but James No10 made it three for Los Cafeteros! Rodriguez tucks the ball into the corner past a helpless Karnezis. This made James, Man of the Match!

Following are the statics of the fight between Colombia and Greece:

First half statistics.

Second half statistics and the full time result of the game.

2014 FIFA World Cup - Group B Match 2 - CHILE VS AUSTRALIA - Second Half Highlights

Below are the last highlights of Group B Match 2 - Chile VS Australia at Arena Pantanal.

After some incisive build-up play by Chile, the ball breaks to Sanchez who opens his body and tries to curl one into the top corner, but his effort is high and wide.

ALEXIS (Chile) sees an effort go off target.

GOAL! The Wigan winger scores Chile's third to wrap up the three points. Pinilla goes through behind the Australian defence, and Ryan's save finds its way to the Chile No15, who fires home from long range.

BEAUSEJOUR (Chile) scores!!

Chile have held off Australia to take the three points in Cuiaba. They went 2-0 up with a quick-fire Alexis and Valdivia double before Cahill pulled one back for the Socceroos. Despite a spirited fightback, Beausejour's late strike sealed the victory.

2014 FIFA World Cup - Group B Match 1 SPAIN VS NETHERLANDS - Second Half Review

We're back under way in Salvador and there's been a downpour of rain during the interval which means the raw heat from the opening period has subsided a little.

The second half kicks off.

JANMAAT (Netherlands) is penalised after committing a foul.

A. INIESTA (Spain) sees his effort hit the target.

Iniesta receives the ball around 25 yards from goal, swivels and gets his head up straight away. His shot, though tame, sees Cillessen scramble across goal to smother the ball.

CILLESSEN (Netherlands) pulls off a save.

GOAL! Robben controls a long ball with wonderful precision, steadies himself to take the ball past Gerard Pique, and hammers past Casillas. The Dutch are ahead!

ROBBEN (Netherlands) scores!!

That's Robben's fourth World Cup goal in his ninth match at the global finals. He scored once in 2006 and twice in 2010. He joins Robin van Persie as the only Dutchmen to score at three World Cups.

DIEGO COSTA (Spain) is ruled offside.

OFF THE BAR! Superb build-up play by Arjen Robben sees Janmaat help the ball on to Van Persie. The Dutch skipper slams the ball right-footed at Casillas' goal and it thunders off the frame of the goal. So close!

V. PERSIE (Netherlands) rattles the crossbar.

XAVI (Spain) swings in the corner.

The Spaniards need to find a response from somewhere, but the Real Madrid defender curls a set piece in which goes just wide of Cillessen's right-hand post.

RAMOS (Spain) sees an effort go off target.

Chelsea's latest signing enters the field. Can he make a difference in the final few minutes in Salvador? Remember, Del Bosque's men lost their opener to Switzerland in 2010 but went on to lift the Trophy.

FÁBREGAS (in) comes off the bench to replace SILVA (out) (Spain)

RAMOS (Spain) pulls off a save.

PEDRO (Spain) commits a foul.

The final whistle sounds.

It's all over in Salvador, and it's one of the most incredible results in World Cup history. Spain led through Xabi Alonso's first half penalty but Robin van Persie equalised with a diving header just before the interval. The excellent Arjen Robben then put the Dutch ahead before De Vrij bundled home and both Van Persie and Robben completed their braces. Spain lost their first game in 2014, can they come back from this?
